Brother Separation Issues Ahead of Cup

"I can't play without my little brother" and "it's not fair that HE gets to play" are basically the thoughts that sum of the thinking of brothers Giovani and Jonathan Dos Santos, respectively. One has been included in coach Javier Aguirre's 23-man squad for the World Cup and the other is one of the last cuts made to the squad, also repsectively.

ESPN Soccernet has a link to a story about this which you can read here.

  1. Since Jonathan Dos santos has recently renovated his contract with FC Barcelona, I believe he will have more chances in the long run with the Mexican national team.
Also Pep Guardiola knows the importance of "La Cantera," even more Jonathan has been the first of the 5 perlas (Gai Assulin, Thiago Alcantara entre otros) to have renovated, so that shows that he has somewhat of an advantage among them.

  2. exactly. He is still young, 20 years old, he will have more than enough chances to play for Mexico in the next 2 or 3 world cups, but as a star and not as a bench player which he would have been. He just needs to grow up a little bit and accept this decision and try to make himself even better to prove that Aguirre was wrong to drop him.
